Emergency support for those in need
The Social Concern Office serves Victoria's downtown population with emergency food assistance. Registered clients can pick up a hamper once every 30 days, and hampers are tailored specifically for singles, couples, or families with children.
Our hampers consist of basic, non-perishable food items such as beans, macaroni, canned soups, rice, etc. We also pick up and accept food donations from a variety of sources, and often distribute fresh produce, meats, dairy, and other goods when available.
Food Hamper Program
First and foremost, the Social Concern Office is a Food Bank! We offer nutritious packages, or "Hampers" consisting of non-perishable items, as well as fresh fruits and vegetables when available. The hampers have been carefully designed by a certified nutritionist to provide maximum health benefits.
Clients are eligible for a food hamper once every 30 days.
Registered couples without children will receive 2 hampers, while families with children are eligible for a Family Hamper, which is specifically designed to provide more nutrition for growing bodies!
The Social Concern Office is open 8:30am - 12:00pm, and 1:00pm - 4:00pm from Monday to Friday for families and individuals. We are closed for special holidays, and encourage our clients to check beforehand if we are open.
